Crazy Eights: Meet the Revenue Experts in Eight Fun Questions

Editor’s note: Today’s post is the latest in a series of introductions to the people behind RevPro, the world’s leading revenue recognition automation solution.

Geoff Robles represents Zuora as Regional Sales Manager for the Southeast portion of the U.S., having joined the company more than two years ago. Geoff’s two decades of experience in enterprise software sales specific to revenue management solutions clearly has been a boon to potential customers and his growing base of established clients. Geoff lives outside Charlotte, North Carolina, with his wife, three teenage children, four dogs and four birds – as he likes to say, “It’s a regular zoo around here!”

1. What are your duties at Zuora?

I am a Regional Sales Manager based in Charlotte, representing the Southeast.

2. What did you do prior to joining the company?

I have sold revenue management systems, primarily rating and billing solutions for a number of years both here in the U.S. and abroad.

3. How does your job help Zuora reach its goals?

Successful execution of my job responsibilities has a direct and immediate impact to Zuora’s success.

4. Would you please walk us through a typical workday for you?

A typical day starts with a review of website activity, checking who has been looking at Zuora’s website. This review usually results in research and follow-up with potential leads. I have a standing list of actions related to prospect and opportunity development. Much of my time is spent on the phone with prospects and partners. I also travel frequently to prospect locations and, given the size of my geography, often fly to other cities in the southeast territory. Sales is pretty much a 24/7 role with constant follow-up responsibilities. In addition, a good portion of time is spent with opportunity management and forecasting, which is critically important to the business.

5. If you could say one thing to our customers and potential customers about what we do, what would that be?

We are committed to providing the best possible customer service and support for the products that we sell.

6. What are your hobbies outside work?

I am involved in the arts in my community. I work with reclaimed metal that is sourced from local scrap yards. I have completed projects to raise funds for various causes in our community. Examples of my metal art are on display in the heart of our city at various outdoor locations. I also receive requests from people to complete commissioned projects.

7. Let’s hear something about yourself people would find surprising.

My wife and I completely restored a 100-year-old home in which we now reside. We were the contractors and worked with the North Carolina Historical Registrar to ensure all work was completed within the parameters set by the state for a historical home. Thanks to YouTube, I completely plumbed the house and also re-wired the house with the assistance of a licensed electrician. It was a major project that took more than a year to complete.

8. What is your favorite part of your role here at Zuora?

Well, I simply love working with prospects and partners. Understanding their vision for success and working with them in support of that vision is very rewarding. It is an exciting time for our company, and a privilege to work with this amazing team.
