This is the time to be indignant, enraged even, over injustice. There is a segment of our society, and therefore a part of our ZEO community, that faces daily injustices, often life-threatening.
The facts are clear: George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Sean Reed, Breonna Taylor, Trayvon Martin, Eric Garner, Philandro Castile, Michael Brown, Freddie Gray, Walter Scott, Tamir Rice, Sandra Bland, Jonathan Ferrell, Oscar Grant. The list goes on. And at some point, you have to say, enough is enough.
For this is not just an issue for Black people in the U.S., it is an issue for us all. “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” We all want to live in a world where we know systemic injustices are being rooted out. And that means when one of our groups hurt, we all hurt, and we all stand together for each other.
ZEOs have come together on the side of justice, as enemies of hate, and as allies to our Black community. We are taking the time to listen and understand. Learning from our Zuora Black Network about what it means to be an Ally and making all voices heard.
We recognize this work is larger than Zuora, and requires both immediate and sustained effort. It is our collective responsibility to create change, and we are committed to doing the work. These are the initial actions we are taking as a company:
Zuora is a family – we support our members of various backgrounds – and we are committed to progress as an anti-racist company.
